Hello Everyone –
The Printshop will be closed for maintenance May 25 – July 21. I will be out of the country during this time and not able to collect any dues or run any tours of the printshop. We look forward to starting up the print guild meetings again in the Fall of 2015.
Have a good summer everyone!
Bookmaking Workshop for this Saturday Cancelled
IMPORTANT Please note:
The bookmaking workshop has been cancelled for this Saturday due to low response for workshop participation. Due to the nature of scheduling events we will try our best to reschedule for a day that is not quite so busy as it seems this weekend is. Please let others know about this change in scheduling. The GMU Printmakers Guild meeting will be held as scheduled.
Bookmaking Workshop with Elizabeth Curren
Bookmaking Workshop
With Elizabeth Curren
Saturday April 4, 12 – 4pm
George Mason University, Fairfax campus
School of Art Building, Room 1009 (the print studio)
In this workshop participants will learn about a variety of book structures and how to create them. The artist will demonstrate some book structures that are a bit outside of the regular codex. All of these structures rely on decent papers, measuring, folding, cutting and simple adhesives.
Participants are asked to bring a variety of nice paper to work with for their own books and to share, cutting tools, self healing cutting mats, triangles, rulers, good scissors, pencils, PVA adhesive and glue brushes, archival glue sticks, bone folders, and a notebook to keep track of things. If you do not have these materials, we will have some that participants can share.
To sign up for this workshop please email Sarah Zuckerman
at szucker2@gmu.edu by Friday April 3, 2015 to reserve a space.
