About

The GMU Printmakers Guild is a collaborative community of students, faculty, and artists from the Washington, DC, area who are passionate about the art of printmaking. Curiosity is the only prerequisite. Whether you are a seasoned professional or a complete beginner, you are welcome. The skills and expertise of our members span the gamut of disciplines and backgrounds.

We believe that shared knowledge is the best knowledge. The Guild sponsors workshops, demonstrations, and lectures led by prominent local and visiting artists. Techniques taught range from silkscreen, intaglio, and relief printing, to papermaking and book arts. The Guild also organizes regular print exchanges and exhibition opportunities. In the past, we’ve partnered with Pyramid Atlantic, Navigation Press, and Lily Press, among others. The Guild occasionally funds trips to printmaking conferences and workshops, as well.

Members are accepted on a rolling basis—you can join anytime.

GMU Printmakers Guild is an officially recognized student organization and nonprofit. If you appreciate the work of the Guild, please consider supporting our organization through a tax-deductible donation.

For the legalese version of what we do, you can take a look at our bylaws.
