Gelatin Monoprinting Workshop

This Sunday, February 26th at 12:00pm guild member Norma Pfaff will be conducting a Gelatin Monoprinting Workshop. If you plan on printing along with her you will need to bring your own gelatin plate. Follow this link for instructions on how to make it. Additionally, you will need to bring leaves, ferns, fabrics and other textures you’d like to transfer. Paper, ink and brayers will be provided.

What you will need:

  • Ferns, leaves, fabric or other textures you want to transfer.
  • Gelatin Plate

This meeting will also be the final deadline to register for the Spring 2017 Print Exchange. If you have have not signed up for it yet but want to participate, notify me by this Sunday. The theme is Altered Realities and the size requirement is 5″ x 5″.

November Meeting – Schedule Change

Hello Guild Members,

Next meeting will take place on Saturday, November 12th at the DC Art Book Fair. The event goes from 11am-6pm. We will meet at 11:30am as usual at Lab 1270: 5th Street NE DC (Union Market). The closest Metro stop is Noma Gallaudet.

After we see the work at the fair, we will go grab a bite to eat and we’ll discuss some themes and ideas behind the work on view.

Meeting and Workshop

Hello Guild Members,

On Saturday, October 8th we’ll be meeting at 12:30pm, an hour later than previously discussed, in order to accommodate the 1pm workshop led by the lovely Brooke Inman.

Brooke is a Richmond-based artist who currently teaches printmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Richmond. She will be conducting a 3-hour Screen Monoprinting Workshop. It will be really fun workshop and excellent opportunity for us to produce prints together and get to know each other a little bit more. Brooke will be bringing tons of resources and work samples for you to see. Don’t miss the chance to talk to an experienced printmaker! I look forward to seeing you all there!
